Tracy's Kenpo

Kenpo is essentially the Japanese and Okinawan term for Chinese Kung-Fu.  Basically, it is Chinese Kung-Fu with Japanese stylization and trappings.  Kenpo literally means, "Fist Law," and is pronounced Chuan Fa in Mandarin dialect Chinese and Ken Fat in the Cantonese.  It specifically refers to the unarmed skills used to defend against both empty-handed and weapon bearing attackers.  While the primary focus of Ancient Strength Martial Arts Centers is instruction in the Choy Li Fut and Yang Tai Chi Chuan styles of Kung-Fu, it is also pleased to offer instruction in the Tracy's System of Chinese Kenpo Karate.  This is the Kenpo lineage of the late great-grandmasters James Mitose and William Chow.  The foundation art on which the late Grandmaster Ed Parker, Chow's student, built his reputation and the template on which Kajukenbo founder Professor Adriano Emperado, also Chow's student, organized his method, this form of Kenpo is one of the most proven methods of unarmed self-defense anywhere.  A direct student of Parker, Grandmaster Al Tracy reorganized the unaltered original self-defense techniques, the core of the art, added supplemental material, and, by so doing, developed the most popular method of Kenpo in the Western hemisphere today.  Private lessons are by arrangement with one's personal instructor
